Registration

How do I submit an application?

To submit an application, simply apply online by completing the sign-up form available on our homepage. Next, enter the customer account you would like to link to the program's benefits. Once you have submitted your application, the team responsible for selecting startups will send you a response within 7 days.

Which OVHcloud account should I enter to sign up?

Enter your company's OVHcloud account (the one which you use for billing your current services). This is the account that your infrastructure budget will be paid into. You will not be able to move it to another OVHcloud account at a later stage. For this reason, do not enter your personal OVHcloud account under any circumstances.

I don't have an OVHcloud account yet, can I still sign up?

If you do not have an OVHcloud account, you can create one via the sign-up form for the OVHcloud Startup Program. You will be prompted to do this in the first step.

The application form asks me to provide an 'event code'? How can I get one?

This code is not mandatory and does not carry any specific advantages. It is used to identify your application when one of our employees or partners meets you at an event. However, it is necessary for startups using support structures managed by a Premium partner with the OVHcloud Startup Program. In this case, please contact the service in advance, or the person responsible for the partnership within your structure.

Advantages

What are the advantages for startups when they join the OVHcloud Startup Program?

If you join our startup support program, we will provide you with an infrastructure budget. This budget can be up to 100,000 euros depending on your server requirements, and can be used to deploy a solution built on OVHcloud platforms. By taking part in this program, you will also receive support from our expert solutions architects throughout your project's development. Our objective is to respond to the needs of all startups, with powerful infrastructures that can be used to set up a flexible, high-availability service.

What are the advantages of choosing OVHcloud over other competitors?

We have an excellent and very competitive price-to-performance ratio (according to reports by the Cloud Spectator). This means you get the best hardware at an affordable price. We value transparency, so we will always indicate a monthly or hourly price, as well as the hardware you are using. There are no hidden costs or over-charging for egress bandwidth. OVHcloud takes open-source technology and interoperability very seriously with its services. You can migrate your infrastructure at any time, should you choose to do so. However, by delivering a high-quality service, we trust that you will want to work with OVHcloud in the long term.

Is the OVHcloud Startup Program different from other startup support programs?

OVHcloud goes further by offering support from our technical experts - including advice on creating and scaling your infrastructure. In this way, the program responds to your long-term goals and allows you more time to focus on business priorities. Our program also includes the option of hosting your data with PCI-DSS certification (for payment data) and Healthcare (for personal healthcare data) in eligible countries.

Is the OVHcloud Startup Program infrastructure budget lower than other startup support programs?

No, the sums provided are equivalent to most other startup support programs. They take into account the value of the euro against the dollar, as well as the price-to-performance ratio of OVHcloud solutions, which is generally better than most on the cloud market (according to reports by the Cloud Spectator). The support hours also help startups to manage their infrastructure budget by working on their scaling. This helps startups avoid any unnecessary costs that may be unmanageable once the startup program is completed.

Eligibility

Is my project eligible for the OVHcloud Startup Program?

We support any startups who propose innovative, technical projects that have growth potential, no matter how early-stage they are in the development process. These companies may or may not be OVHcloud customers; they could be a small team that wants to test an idea; they might already be generating revenue. It is important that the startup requires cloud infrastructure soon. This is because the budget allocated following Program admission, must be used within the Programs set time limit or the budget is lost.


However, the OVHcloud Startup Program does not support:

  • Projects that are not linked to a professional startup or activity (NGOs, associations, etc.)
  • Companies that have already signed up to or taken part in an OVHcloud Startup Program (Incubator)
  • Projects with false, incomplete or vague information included in the form.

Some applications may also be declined if they are a better match for the OVHcloud Partner Program. The OVHcloud Partner Program is better suited to the following profiles:

  • Companies whose goal is to resell OVHcloud products as an integrator or a white-label product.
  • Companies offering digital services, consulting businesses or competing services.

How can I improve our chances of admission?

If you meet the following criteria, your application is more likely to be successful:

  • The fields in the sign-up form are completed diligently and on-time.
  • The project proposed has been launched.
  • Support within a support structure e.g. incubator or accelerator for helping startups.
  • A functional website explaining the concept behind your solution.
  • A detailed outline of the solution provided in the form.
  • A business model detailed in the form.
  • A description of technical requirements provided in the form, and the ways in which OVHcloud can help (solutions, quantity of resources, technologies, etc.)
  • At least one successful fundraising.

I am already part of a support program with a competitor. Can I still join the OVHcloud Startup Program?

Yes, the OVHcloud Startup Program does not impose any form of exclusivity on OVHcloud services. This is an opportunity to the test and compare our solutions with other alternatives on the market.

Obligations

Does the Startup program include any hidden, contractual obligations?

No. The OVHcloud Startup Program is completely free for the companies it supports. We do not request any form of compensation and will not take any shares in your startup. We provide you with the means to succeed, so you can focus on achieving your goals.

Will I need to repay the infrastructure budget I do not use?

No, the allocated infrastructure budget is completely at your disposal. OVHcloud will not request any compensation from you.

How does it work?

How long can I participate in the OVHcloud Startup Program? At what point does it start?

Your participation will last for a maximum of 12 months. It will start when you sign the contracts received for validating your application. You will then immediately get the advantages listed in the OVHcloud Startup Program.

Is the infrastructure budget valid for OVHcloud services that I already own?

Yes. Once your infrastructure budget has been validated, eligible OVHcloud solutions that you already use (and the ones you order) will be automatically debited using this credit (provided that there is a sufficient amount of credit).

What pricing applies to the services I use during and after my participation in the program?

The pricing for OVHcloud solutions does not change during or after participation in our OVHcloud Startup Program. This is indicated on our websites.

How much time will it take to process my application?

Once your application has been sent, the team responsible for selecting startups will let you know whether it has been accepted within 7 days.

Why was my application declined?

We receive a high volume of sign-up requests. In an effort to continue maintaining a high-quality service, a selection committee meets every day to determine whether or not startups should be supported by OVHcloud. Priority is given to those projects we deem to be the most innovative, and where it is clear that OVHcloud's expertise, infrastructure support, and financial support is necessary.

If the OVHcloud Startup Program has declined your application, it may be for one of the following reasons:

  • Your project is not linked to a professional startup or activity (NGOs, associations, etc.)
  • Your company has already signed up to or taken part in an OVHcloud Startup Program (Incubator).
  • Your application contained false, incomplete or vague information.

Some applications may also be declined if we deem a project to be better-suited to the OVHcloud Partner Program. A place in the OVHcloud Partner Program or our Marketplace is better-suited to the following profiles:

  • Companies looking to resell OVHcloud products as an integrator or a white-label product.
  • Companies offering digital services, consulting businesses and companies looking to compete with OVHcloud.

Congratulations! One of our agents will contact you soon to explain the next steps. While you wait:

  • Read and accept the contracts of usage for the service - this states that your infrastructure budget (valid for 12 months) is paid directly to the OVHcloud account your signed up with.
  • Hold your first telephone meeting with one of our solutions architects, by contacting us via the email address startup@ovh.com.

Where can I view the welcome email for the OVHcloud Startup Program?

A welcome email is sent to the email address you provided when you signed up to the program. It's also available via the OVHcloud Control Panel by going to "My Account", then "Emails received". If you have any issues signing the contracts, please contact the email address startup@ovh.com and enter the OVHcloud customer ID used for the sign-up.

How long can I participate in the OVHcloud Startup Program? At what point does it start?

Your participation will last for a maximum of 12 months. It will start when you sign the contracts received for validating your application. You will then immediately get the advantages listed in the OVHcloud Startup Program.

Is the infrastructure budget valid for OVHcloud services that I already own?

Yes. Once your infrastructure budget has been validated, eligible OVHcloud solutions that you already use (and the ones you order) will be automatically debited using this credit (provided that there is a sufficient amount of credit).

Where can I check my remaining infrastructure budget?

You can check your remaining budget at any time via the OVHcloud Control Panel. Simply click on "My account", then "My payment methods" and then "My vouchers". If nothing appears, it may be that the OVHcloud Startup Program contracts sent by email have not been signed, or that the customer ID used is not the one provided on sign-up. If this is the case, please refer to the earlier question: "Where can I view the welcome email for the OVHcloud Startup Program?", or log in using the correct customer account.

How can I spend my infrastructure budget?

Once your application has been accepted, and the usage contracts have been signed, we will pay your infrastructure budget to the OVHcloud account used during sign-up. This sum can be spent on the services listed in the table below.

Public Cloud
Instances (virtual servers) combine flexibility with guaranteed resources. Does the OVHcloud Startup Program only offer cloud services?

We have focused this program on cloud-based solutions. The cloud offers the most innovative solutions for building a scalable, high-availability infrastructure with backup and security options (like vRack). You can then ensure that your users have a service capable of managing traffic spikes, without experiencing any hardware failures.

The level of support I have been attributed does not reflect the maturity of my business or project. Is it definitive?

Program levels are not attributed depending on the maturity of your business or project. We provide you with support based on an estimation of your needs in terms of infrastructure (for 12 months). The decision is based on your business domain, your current billing with OVHcloud, and the information you provide when you sign up. Your support level is not definitive and can be adjusted. What is the duration of the OVHcloud Startup Program? What happens afterwards?

The maximum duration for receiving support is 12 months. After this period, you will no longer receive a budget for infrastructure and support. However, as an OVHcloud customer, our sales team are always available to discuss your requirements. You can also get in touch with our support team regarding any technical issues or incidents. You will remain part of the Startup Program alumni and will have access to the collaborative platform and any events we host for alumni.

Will I need to repay the budget for any OVHcloud Startup Program infrastructure budget that I do not use?

No, you are free to use as much of your infrastructure budget as you want. OVHcloud will not request any compensation from you.
